Introduction

Hello potential coffeehouse owners!  My name is Duncan Goodall, and I own a coffeehouse in New Haven, CT called Koffee?

I've been in the coffeehouse trade for about 12 years, and I've had the pleasure (and pain) of starting, buying, selling and closing coffeehouses,  in addition to starting (and retaining) a bakery and catering business.

Over the years, I've made some really stupid mistakes and a few good calls... In the past, I've made a good packet of money and lost a bunch...  I've had great employees and some real stinkers... but in the end, I've learned some pretty interesting things.

Have you ever dreamed of owning your own coffeehouse?  Do you want to escape the corporate grind and live the coffeehouse life?

This is what the Coffeehouse Guy is about - helping people like you to escape the corporate grind and become a successful coffeehouse owner.

I am in the process of writing a comprehensive step-by-step guide to this end.  Everything from how to re-arrange your life while you are still in Corporate America, how much money to save, how to start educating yourself to prepare for the leap, where to find the right coffeehouse foryou, how to set it up, how to find money to finance the build, then through the buildout, menu selection, pricing, hiring employees, training employees, equipment selection etc etc.  This guide will take you from the point you are at now - sitting in your cubicle (office) in big company America, and take you to your dream coffeehouse in one year.

If you'd like me to contact you when I've finished the guide, please shoot me an email (duncan.goodall@gmail.com) and I'll add you to the list.

In the mean time, about once a week or so, I'm planning to write a blogpost on some topic or another - my experiences with that issue, what I've tried, what has worked and what hasnt worked.   My hope is that you can start learning some of this information now, before the guide comes out, so you can be better prepared when the time comes to make the leap!

Please add your comments, thoughts to it!  Let me know what you think!  If you have a particular topic you are interested in, let me know!  I'd be happy to write about it.

best,

Duncan
